Mangalore, Jan 11: The four-day state-level workshop on Punjabi folk dances held at St Agnes College, concluded on Monday January 11 with a performance by all the students who participated.
Students from various colleges all over the state participated in the workshop and learned the folk dances after understanding the basics and the themes under the guidance of Karanjeet Singh, performer from Punjab.
The cultural association of the college had organized the workshop.
The valedictory programme of the workshop had Muddu Moodubelle, writer and the senior announcer of All India Radio, as chief guest. He said that study of various cultures helps open them up to understand the specialty and similarities of cultures.
Karanjeet Singh was honoured during the programme by the chief guest. The participants of the workshop shared their experiences.
Shubhalekha, faculty of science department and convener of the workshop, welcomed all. Sr Supriya, vice- principal of the college, presided over the function.
