Two women rescued, Arab man dies in mountain trekking in UAE

Sharjah, May 11: The Sharjah police on Monday 11, confirmed that a 35 year old expat had died while trekking in Khor Fakkan Mountains in the UAE, as per reports from the Khaleej Times.

The Sharjah police posted in social media that they had found three people in the Khor Fakkan Mountains who were reported missing on Saturday, May 9.

The lost people included a 33 year old woman from Belarus, a 33 year old woman from Latvia and a 35 year old Arab man. Air rescue teams from national center for search and rescue, Sharjah civil defence and Sharjah police jointly carried out the search operation successfully. But the man had already died and the women were shifted to hospital.

Following a request from the public prosecution, the body of the 33 year old man was sent to the center of forensic medicine to identify the cause of death.

Director of the eastern region police department, Colonel Ali Alki Al Hamoudi said that the search operation was started after they received a report of three foreigners missing.

Few hours after the search operation, the two women were found along with the body of the man who had already died. Investigations have been initiated to find the cause of the Arab man's death.

A senior police officer has asked citizens to stay at home in the present situation and step out only in dire requirements.
