Udupi, Jan 6: The local municipality has got a crore of rupees from the state government for providing infrastructure and amenities towards the holding of Paryaya festival on the 18th and 19th of the month.
Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, local MLA, Raghupati Bhat and municipal president, Herga Dinakar Shetty, met the Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, on Tuesday January 5 and sought financial assistance from the government for handling the Paryaya festival. The Chief Minister is learnt to have signed an order, sanctioning one crore rupees to the municipality.
Municipal councillors, Ravi Amin, Kiran Kumar, Prabhakar Poojary and transport operator, Suresh Nayak, also had accompanied the above delegation.
