Sullia, Jan 3: Labour Minister B N Bacche Gowda said that NSS will be extended to all the 1,200 ITIs in the State. NSS programme is available only in 300 it is at present, he said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the tenth State-level ITI NSS students’ leadership training camp at Sri Parivara Panchalingeshwara ITI, Nintikallu on Saturday January 3. Stating that several programmes of the Labour department are not reaching the eligible beneficiaries, minister said that the department so far has given financial assistance to 90 lakh BPL card holders.
Addressing presspersons on the sidelines of the programme, miniter said that employment has been provided to 80,000 unemployed youths during BJP’s regime through employment mela. The government has a target to create 10 lakh employments in five years, he said. Students residing in the hostels run by social welfare department will be trained in subjects including computer and English, he added.
