He was speaking at the fourth annual day celebrations of Balkunje Cricketers, recently.
Virar Shetty and Rati Shetty were felicitated during the annual day celebrations by the people of Balkunje in recognition of the former bagging the top Tuluva award in Mumbai.
D Mohammed Nazeer Sakhafi, teacher of Balkunje madrasa, Ramdas Bhat, retired teacher of St Paul Higher Primary School, Balkunje, Pandurang Prabhu, retired principal of Vidyavardak Pre-university College, Mundkoor, Pramod Kumar, zilla panchayat member, Louis D’Souza, president of Balkunje Cricket Club, Herald D’Souza, and captain of Balkunje Cricket Club, were present on the dais.
A musical concert was staged by Shashi Sangeet Balaga, Padubidri, as part of the cultural programme.
Yashodar Sapaliga welcomed the gathering. Dayakar Sapaliga Balkunje proposed the vote of thanks while Madhukar Naik compered the programme.
