Panjim: Paid quarantine for those who enter: Chief minister Pramod Sawant

Panaji, Apr 23: Chief minister, Pramod Sawant passed the order that anyone entering the state without permission of the state government will be made to do paid quarantine. He added that there have been cases of people entering Goa illegally through internal routes and shortcuts.

Anyone entering the state forcefully shall be put in paid quarantine, he said. He went on to cite the example of the woman who came from Rajasthan and sought entry into Goa. For around 24 hours, she stayed at the Keri checkpost. While she was allowed to enter the state, she has been placed in institutional quarantine.

The CM also added that people owning houses in the state also will not be allowed to enter.

Videos of people entering the state illegally surfaced on social media a few days back. It showed people entering Goa using routes through forests.
