Mangalore: Road Concreting to be Completed in Six Months – Palemar

Mangalore, Dec 22: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, has said that the concreting work of the important roads in the city will be completed within the next six months.  He was speaking to reporters after taking part in the progress review meeting of road development works in the city, organized in the office of the city mayor on Sunday December 20.

“The road concreting work taken up by using the special grant of Rs 100 crore sanctioned by the Chief Minister is almost complete. The work of laying footpaths, drains and dividers is pending at a few places. They will be attended to shortly,” he assured.

District deputy commissioner, V Ponnuraj, criticized the City Corporation engineers for the undue delay in laying inter locks at the intersections where minor roads branch out of the concreted roads. The mayor said that the works are not progressing as expected, because of the staff shortage. He pointed out that the number of employees provided to the Corporation has remained the same, although the works handled by it has gone up from the earlier Rs 15 crore to Rs 130 crore.

    I agree with Yogesh Salian.Mr Palemar is minister in charge of entire district.It seems that he is not bothered of Sullia,Puttur and Belthangadi.The roads connecting Mani with Mysore,Puttur with Gurvayunkere,Bantwal to Belthangadi,Uppinangadi to Subramanya are in bad shape.People of these are voted BJP to Power. These area have given the govt a revenue of Rs 18 crores as motar vehicle tax.In return what they got.?.Where are those elected Reps?

    Dear Palemar, it is indeed a wonderful job you are rendering in your own constituency. But as our District in-charge Minister we seek your intervention and necessary action to widen our taluk roads connecting between Buntwal to Belthangadi. PWD has already used the drainage and pedstrians area to widen the roads, and still roads are narrow and at some small bridges two buses cannot pass simultaneously. As you know the traffic in this stretch has increased considerably, aslo because of the private buses being permitted to ply between Dhrmastala and Mangalore, and therefore widening of the roads is very much essantial. We wonder why your Goverment has cancelled the proposed B'dy- Buntwal road widening in the KSHIP-II?, as this was already surveyed and included in the clotwilson project report submitted to World Bank?. We sincerely look on to your necessary action and support in this regard URGENTLY.
