Mangalore, Dec 17: Guardian Angel parish, Angelore, here organized inter-parish men’s floodlit volleyball tournament, recently as part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of parish.
Panambur seputy superintendent of police Girish inaugurated the inter-parish volley ball tournament, which was attended by 18 parishes of Mangalore diocese. Taccode parish team was the champions at the tournament. Bondel parish team was the runners-up, while Moodubelle parish team bagged the first place.
Among individual prize winners, Arun Castelino of Taccode parish was the best attacker, Ashwin Andrew D’Souza of Bondel parish was the best setter and Gladson Menezes of Taccode parish was the best all rounder.
District Congress Committee (DCC) vice-president Ivan D’Souza and Jacinta Boremio were present during the presentation of prizes. Angelore parish priest Fr Stany B Lobo presented the prizes.
The students of Capitanio Pre-University College sang the prayer hymn. Angelore parish council vice-president Jossy D’Souza welcomed the gathering. National referee and tournament convenor Pradeep D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Capitanio High School physical education teacher Vincent Lobo compered the progranme.
Vicar general Dr Denis Moras Prabhu will inaugurate an inter-parish Bible quiz competition, which will be held on Sunday December 20. The competition is organized by Angelore parish at Capitanio School hall here.
