Bangalore, Dec 16: Continuing with their ‘Resort’ culture, a few disgruntled ministers and some dissident MLAs, some of whom earlier belonged to the Reddy camp, met at a private resort in the outskirts of the city to draw up strategies to get their demands fulfilled.
The meeting, presided by Honnali MLA, M P Renukacharya, was attended by three ministers and about 14 MLAs. All of them participated in the meeting, immediately after attending the assembly session on Monday December 14. It is said, that the disgruntled ministers and MLAs feel that the Reddy brothers have left them high and dry, after their demands were met. They were assured that their grievances would be redressed in the coordination committee meeting. But, the coordination committee met only once initially, and no one knows when the next meeting is scheduled.
The MLAs including Renukacharya had been told that five ministers close to the Chief Minister would be dropped and that three men loyal to Jagadish Shettar would be accommodated in the ministry. This has not happened. They also say that the Chief Minister has not brought necessary changes in his behaviour as promised. Their immediate demand is to give ministerial berths to Renukacharya, Beloor Gopalakrishna and S K Bellubbi. The meeting was attended by ministers Anand Asnotikar, Venkataramanappa and Balachandra Jarkhiholi.
It is said, alerted by this development, the Reddy camp contacted M P Renukacharya and agreed to push with the Chief Minister, their demand for the induction of three ministers immediately.
