Panjim, Apr 14: A warning was issued by The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for fishermen on Monday, cautioning them of the unsuitable sea conditions over the south of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. The fishermen were further advised not to venture out into the rough areas and to stay vigilant.

“There is a possibility that the sea will be rough near the shore and also the low-lying areas might experience surges intermittently during high tide due to the combined effect of high period swell waves, having 1.9 - 2.3 m height, and spring tides,” the IMD advisory quoted.

Remote places of Goa experienced light rain and thunderstorm on land. No drastic change in maximum temperature was recorded in the districts of north and south Goa. Mormugao observed the highest maximum temperature of 34.4°C.

Similarly, no significant change was recorded in minimum temperature of the two districts. The lowest minimum temperature, as well, was recorded at Mormugao at 25.5°C.

Rain gauge stations reported that the Sakhali station received very light rain of 0.5mm and the city of Valpoi only experienced a trace of rainfall.

The taluks of Bicholim and Canacona were relatively less affected. The Goa IMD issued a nowcast stating that light thunderstorm clouds would approach the Sattari and Dharbandora taluks on Monday night.
