Bantwal, Dec 11: ‘Madhavendra Sabhasadana’ hall, newly built at the local unit of Sri Kashi Mutt here, was inaugurated by Sri Sudhindrateertha Swamiji, spiritual head of Sri Kashi Mutt Samsthan, and his ‘Patta Shishya’, Sri Samyamindrateertha, by performing Arati, on Thursday December 10.
This hall has been built in front of Bantwal Lord Tirumala Venkataramana Temple at a cost of about Rs 65 lac.
Earlier to the inaugural, the portraits of the former heads of Sri Kashi Mutt, which were to later adorn the walls of the new hall, were taken in a procession from the Samadhi of Sri Devendrateertha to the temple, where the portraits and the Swamijis were offered a ‘Poorna Kumbha’ welcome.
On his maiden visit to Bantwal, Sri Samyamindrateertha was given a grand welcome by the people of the GSB community here, by carrying him in a specially decorated palanquin, from the entry point to the town.
Both the religious heads were seated at the dais thereafter and offered ‘Phala Mantrakshate’ to the devotees, before delivering benedictory addresses.
Hall Renovation Committee honorary president, M Vedavyasa Prabhu, president, Manoor Lakshman Kamath, secretary, Bhami Narayan Shenoy, treasurer, B Purushottam Shenoy, members, B Shivaraya Prabhu, N Sudhakar Shenoy, B Venkataraya Pai etc., were present.
