Beltangady, Mar 30: A system in which provides live updates about the people who are home-quarantined like what they are doing, where they are and how their health with their photographs is is being undertaken here experimentally. People sitting in the war room can keep vigil on those who are in home quarantine. This is the first ever such effort being undertaken in India.
Even after their hands are stamped, those who had come in contact with coronavirus infected people many a time create panic by freely mixing with the crowds. Therefore, this small town in Dakshina Kannada district is ready to use GPS-based app to keep track on such people.
Family members, policemen, Asha volunteers and health staff have been trying their best to ensure that the people with quarantine stamp do not move about freely. In this background, a new app created with the help of a firm named Isearch has been launched. The app titled COVID19 BLT DATABASE, is being used to keep tab on the people suspected to have contracted the disease with the involvement of taluk administration, tahsildar, police department, health, revenue, civil supplies department, Shramik, Beltangady MLA office and search.
Preliminary works relating to this first ever experiment in the country have b completed and it would be given to departmental use. This app was planned after one CPOVID 19 case emerged from Tannirupantha village. This system reportedly will help the officials to keep tab on home quarantined people.
People sitting in the war room can have latest information about the quarantined people. By tracking the movement of coronavirus suspects, this app will come in handy towards blocking it from spreading to others.
