Mangaluru, Mar 30: To control the spread of COVID-19 after declaring lockdown in the country, several hospitals in the district suspended OPD services.
Given this, several patients are in trouble without timely personal consultation with doctors and no proper medical advice. Realizing this, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Natekal, started online teleconsultation service in the constituent, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre.
Under this service, people can contact the doctors whilst in their home. The doctors will extend teleconsultation and medical advice for their health problems through WhatsApp. As per the Kanachur Hospital announcement for this purpose specialist doctors of nine departments will give their teleconsultation from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Other than this, people who are without social media service (WhatsApp) in rural areas can directly contact specialists in the concerned department over the phone by informing the disease details and obtain advice from the doctors through the hospital landline number 0824-2888000. The limit of the phone call is 10 minutes and the patients are requested to give appropriate information so that they can obtain consultation from the doctors.
Also, to avoid the spread of the disease, the hospital opened a fever clinic for the welfare of the patients, which will be open from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on all working days in the entrance of the hospital.
As usual, emergency medicine, ICU, OBG and pediatric departments with specialized doctors will be available round the clock 24/7.
