Kundapur, Mar 26: Kundapur assistant commissioner Raju K personally stood at checks post to inspect passing vehicles on Thursday, March 26. He gave a piece of his mind to those who were going about despite knowing about Coronavirus.
Listening to complaints that vegetable and grocery vendors have increased prices, he conducted a surprise raid accompanied by Kundapur city police inspector Harish Naik and warned the shopkeepers. “The orders of the government should be strictly followed. Lines should be drawn in front of the shops for the customers to maintain safe distance. Do not exploit people in such trying conditions. Strict action will be taken if the matter of increased prices comes to my notice,” he warned.
Conducting inspections of vehicles at Kundapur Shastri circle, he advised those who violated law. “Police personnel are working day and night. Value their words. We are working for your sake,” he said.
Speaking to news reporters, he said people should not come out just to buy few vegetables. “I had requested about it to everybody yesterday. I will have to take strict action if the mistakes are repeated and will have close everything. We are here for the sake of citizens and their health. Please listen to police and stay at home,” he said.
