MANGALORE, Nov 27 (The Hindu) : Bharath Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) is addressing issues related to the mobile phone network in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Y.C. Mishra, Principal General Manager, Dakshina Kannada Telecom District, said this on the sidelines of Mega India 2009, a seminar on the changing Indian business scenario, held at the Srinivas Institute of Management Studies here on Wednesday.
Mishra said that he had obtained some feedback from mobile phone customers in this regard. BSNL had erected eight more towers in the last one month at Kukkaje, Harihal Palthadka, Udupi and Karkala. By March-end, there would be 425 towers in place.
Broadband cards introduced recently had evoked good response from consumers, Mishra said. About 100 cards had been sold within the first 10 days of its launch. Mishra reiterated that the telecom district would offer 3G mobile phone service from January.
