Bengaluru, Mar 24: The state government had announced its decision to provide free food to the people through Indira Canteens. This measure was taken to help the poor to tide over difficult times created by the state-level lockdown announced because of increasing incidences of coronavirus infection.
Chief minister B S Yediyurappa, made an announcement about the decision to close down Indira Canteens. There was huge rush for free food at Indira Canteens on Tuesday. As this was reported by the media, the concerned took a decision not to open Indira Canteens as crowded spots always facilitate spread of coronavirus.
Several hotels have been permitted to run parcel services. Yediyurappa has requested the people to understand the seriousness of coronavirus infection. He sought support and cooperation of the citizens in this difficult phase.
