Bengaluru: No bus services - PU exam staff stranded in city

Bengaluru, Mar 23: PU college lecturers, who were posted as room supervisors, in-charges of vigilance squads and members of these squads, who were posted in different parts of the state are finding it hard to reach their homes after the last examination was cancelled by the state government.

Last of the annual PU examination was scheduled for Monday, March 23. But because of the grave concerns over coronavirus, this examination has been postponed. Lecturers who were posted to different districts in various capacities have nowhere to go. Hotels are closed, bus services are not available and they cannot afford to stay back because of cost factor and coronavirus scare, several lecturers rued.

Because of the coronavirus effect, government and service bus services to different districts have been affected. In some district, strict checking is on. Therefore moving between the districts also is posing a problem. The lecturers hope that the education department officials and the government will attend to their problems and make efforts to help them to reach their homes without much delay.
