Udupi: District JD(S) Protests Against MESCOM for Irregular Electricity Supply

Udupi, Nov 23: The district JD(S) staged a protest near the office of the state-owned MESCOM, a public utility enterprise, on Monday November 23.

They wanted to draw the attention of state energy minister K S Eshwarappa to the irregular supply of electricity to domestic consumers and agriculturists across the district.






JD(S) district president Deviprasad Shetty led the protest along with party activists and presented a memorandum to MESCOM chief executive engineer to forward the same to state energy minister K S Eshwarappa.

JD(S) local leaders Vasudev Rao, Bhojaraj Shetty Byndoor, Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor, Jagdish Yediyal, Ummer Farouq, Ismail, Shankar Acharya, and Uday Shetty were present on the occasion.

    My whole-hearted support to JD (S) on this irregularity by MESCOM. It has become a major head-ache to farmers in the rural areas of Mangalore Taluk. I wonder if the MESCOM is selling the available electricity to major business corporations by negelcting the poor food providers.
