Mumbai: People spitting paan, gutkha fined Rs 1,000 each

Mumbai, Mar 21: The city police swung into action against people spitting paan and gutkha on the roads.

They fined sixteen people of Rs 1,000 on Friday.

So far Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation collected Rs 1.7 lac from 178 persons in this connection.

While most of the penalty was collected from Parel and Sewri, 212 persons were let off after warnings.
