Udupi, Mar 21: In support of Prime Minister's Janata curfew, all the private bus operators in the city decided to stop their services.
City, service and express buses plying from Udupi to Kundapur, Karkala, Mangaluru and other places of the district will discontinue their service.
Speaking with Daijiworld.com, Kuilady Suresh Naik, president Udupi city bus owners association said, "All the city bus operators have decided to stop their services on Sunday in support of the Janata curfew. Due to the corona outbreak, the bus industry has already suffered a huge loss. We are experiencing an 80% fall in passenger commute. We will request the authorities to wave off the one-month loan amount because of the huge losses experienced by us. It will be difficult to run the buses henceforth if the situation continues. We will cut short our trips from Monday onwards," he said.
Some operators have already decided to cut short their trips and have halted certain services. KSRTC has also decided to stop service on Sunday.
