Udupi: Medical treatment on doorsteps of bedridden Endosulfan victims in district

Udupi, Mar 19: “A mobile medical and physiotherapy unit commissioned from Thursday under Endosulfan patient’s health improvement scheme to go to the houses of bedridden endosulfan victims in the district and provide medicines and treatment to them,” said DHO, Dr Sudhirchandra Sooda. He spoke after setting in motion a mobile medical and physiotherapy unit vehicle here on Thursday.

“The mobile medical and physiotherapy unit has a physiotherapist, a staff nurse and a D group worker. The staff travelling by mobile vehicle will visit the houses of bedridden endosulfan victim patients; provide physiotherapy treatment, medicine, medical suggestions and guidance.

In Udupi, 48 patients are bedridden due to endosulfan including 29 from Kundapur, 8 from Udupi and 11 in Karkala. The service will be provided to them,” said the DHO.
