Ramanagara, Mar 19: Former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy's son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, was to marry at a grand function at Ramanagara. A sprawling pandal was under construction for the purpose since some time. Now, a decision to shift the venue of the wedding and cut down its size has been taken. Therefore, the erection of pandal near 'Janapada Loka' at Ramanagara has been stopped.

The sheets which had already been fixed are being removed and loaded onto trucks. Nikhil Kumaraswamy, as per the plan of the family, was to marry Revathi at a lavish function in Ramanagara on April 17. Kumaraswamy had planned to provide food to all the people from Channapatna and Ramanagara taluks as a gesture of gratitude to the people here who have strongly stood by the JD(S) and enabled his family to get entrenched in politics again.

But because of coronavirus tensions and government rules prohibiting extravagant functions the family has decided to arrange a simple wedding at Bengaluru, it is learnt.
