Karwar: Brown sugar being transported by cars seized, four arrested

Karwar, Mar 19: District crime intelligence bureau, based on reliable information, raided two cars and seized 2.6 kilograms of the drug known as brown sugar, valued at Rs 2.86 crore.

The said cars were moving towards Ankola from Yallapur when the police raided them. Four persons, identified as Narayana Ramakrishna Bhagwath (35), driver, Chandrahas Dayanand Gunaga (29), contractor Veerabhadra Subraya Hegde (43) and Praveen Manjunath Bhat (30), a religious scholar and priest, were arrested.

Two cars and four mobile phones were also confiscated from their possession.
