Mangalore, Nov 19 : District Youth Congress celebrated birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi at Little Sisters Home for the Poor near Bajjodi here on Thursday November 19.
The members and its office-bearers served special meals to the home inmates. The inmates joined in the special programme organized to remember Indira Gandhi.
Arun Coelho, district president of Youth Congress, said that by serving special meals to the inmates here we tried recall late Indira Gandhi’s service to the society and her concern towards the senior citizens of the country.
Former President of Youth Congress Bondala Jagannath Shetty and office-bearer Dennis D-Silva among others were present.
In a separate programme at District Congress office, president of District Congress Committee, B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the Indira Gandhi Birth anniversary celebrations by garlanding her portrait. Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Vishwas Kumar Das and Mamatha Gatti were present.
