Mumbai, March 16: Janapada Parishat Central Committee president T Thimmegowda Bengaluru has announced in an official communication that Dr R K Shetty is appointed as president of Karnataka Janapada Parishat Bengaluru, Maharashtra unit.
Dr R K Shetty was the member of the advisory committee of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra, Bunts Sangha Mumbai, Andheri Bandra regional committee president and is also active in social work. He is well known through LIC in Mumbai and is the economic expert who has bagged Karnataka Rajyotsava award.
Karnataka Janapada Parishat was founded in the year 1979 for the growth of Janapada, literature, art and culture. It has several district units in various districts of Karnataka. It also has units in Maharashtra, Kerala and Dubai.
Dr R K Shetty said that Janapada Parishat will aim for the growth of ancient Janapada art and culture. It will also try through its Maharashtra unit to create awareness on Janapada art among young children in Kannada medium schools.
