Udupi: Former MLA Madhwaraj urges govt to set up coronavirus testing labs in coastal Karnataka

Udupi, Mar 14: Former MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj has urged state government to open labs in coastal Karnataka to test coronavirus suspected patients.

In his recent tweet, Pramodh Madhwaraj said, “Just now spoke with district surgeon Udupi and got to know that there are no labs in Udupi and Mangaluru to test for COVID 19 and the nearest lab is Shivamogga. I urge the government to open up labs in coastal Karnataka asap.”

All suspected coronavirus cases of Udupi district were tested in Bengaluru, Chennai and Shivamogga recently. Even though there is a Virology testing lab in Manipal hospitals, as the directions says coronavirus testing labs should be designated by government.
