Mangalore, Nov 17: A man was admitted to a private hospital in the city after he was attacked by unidentified persons in Punchame near Polali in Bantwal rural police station limits on Tuesday November 17.
Ananda Kottary (28), resident of Punchame, has been hospitalized with injuries. He is the driver of a private service bus on the Udupi-Mangalore route.
He was stabbed as he was going home with a neighbour after finishing his duty for the day.
“There were three people on three bikes and they attacked with a hatchet and went away speedily. They had kept the bike engines switched on during the attack”, said the person who was with the victim during the attack.
He said that it was difficult to identify them as it was dark at the time. Bantwal rural police registered the case.
