Mumbai, Nov 17:
One of the events preceding Navy Day celebrations on Friday December 4 was a public performance by the Navy band at Joggers Park, Bandra (West), on Sunday November 15.

Fifty-five naval musicians gave an enthralling performance for 90 minutes which included music ranging from classical and pop to popular Hindi songs as well as singing by some members of the band.

The musicians played percussion, woodwind, brass, and electronic instruments. The Navy’s Central Band is headed by Lieutenant Commander Satish Champion, director of music, Indian Navy.

The evening began with the tune ‘Anchors Aweigh’ and went on for over an hour with the audience applauding the performers after every piece while children danced away.

A similar public performance was held at the Dream Park, Kandivali (East) also on Sunday.
