Bengaluru: Dead trees endanger lives - One dead, girl seriously injured

Bengaluru, Mar 13: On Thursday, March 12, falling dry trees caused havoc for two families. In one case, a person lost his life, while in the other case, a girl suffered serious head injuries and stands admitted into a hospital for treatment.

After a dry branch got snapped and fell on a car, an employee of Bangalore Water and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) lost his life. In the other case, seven-year-old Trisha was admitted into hospital with serious head injuries.

Trisha's school had declared holiday on account of coronavirus scare. To collect hall ticket of the examination, she was going to her school in a motorbike driven by her father at around 8.30 am, when a branch of a dry peepal tree fell on her head. Trisha suffered a deep gash and her brain reportedly received the impact of the fall. She is being treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital.

In the other case, Srinivas, employed by BWSSB, whose leg was amputated sometime back due to gangrene and was on long leave, had come to his office to resume work. His car was parked inside the office premises and his wife and son who got down from the car had gone into the office to seek the help of office staff. Before they returned, a huge branch of a dry tree came down on the car as a result of which Srinivas lost his life.
