Puttur, Nov 12: Rajesh (15), son of Ramachandra, a resident of Sakleshpur, studying in Knanaya Jyothi English Medium School, Kadaba, had committed suicide by hanging himself at the students’ hostel located near the school on Tuesday November 10.
After being absent for a few days from the school because of persistent ache in the abdomen region, he had attended the school on Tuesday morning. He was diagnosed with the problem of kidney stone, and had been treated at the hospital. After attending the school on Tuesday morning, he had gone to the hostel room, and his body was found hanging from the roof beams of the hostel room by his class mates in the evening.
It is guessed that he was frustrated with the chronic pain that persisted for several days, because of which, he chose to end his life. However, in an exemplary show of his human face, he left behind a suicide note through which, he donated his kidneys and eyes.
Because of the fact that the kidney of a dead person is said to be of no use, and that some formalities need to be adhered to in the case of eye donation, and that the donated eyes need to be removed and preserved within a few hours of the death, his benevolence could not be of help to others. However, the fact that he was throbbing for the welfare of his fellow beings even at the time of death, has shown to the world the sublime, humane face of this student.
