Kasargod: Visa fraud - Complaint against two including a lady

Kasargod, Mar 6: A complaint has been filed in the town police station here against two persons including a woman, about having cheated a person and his friends to the extent of over Rs 16 lac by promising to procure job at Canada.

The complainant happens to be Jerin George, resident of Hidayat Nagar in Uliyathadka. The complaint has been registered against Anupa Mary (25) from Puttur, and Ashfaq Nissar Kirani (29) from Maharashtra.

Both of them reportedly had, on October 18, 2018, collected two lac rupees each from Jerin with promise of providing him with work visa in Canada. The money was transferred through their bank accounts. Two lac rupees each was also collected with similar promise from Jerin's friends, Shebin, Basnon, Irshad, Unais, Sanjulal, Prince Moosa and Prajwal, he said.

So far no visas have been provided nor the amounts have been returned, he stated. The police are probing the matter.
