Bangalore, Nov 10: “I knew that Reddy brothers will not allow the government to be run smoothly. Because of this apprehension, I did not hand over power to the BJP after completion of my term. The people of the state have realized this by now,” claimed former state chief minister and JDS state president, H D Kumaraswami.
He was speaking after according a warm welcome into the party to veteran politician and former minister, P G R Sindhia, who had parted ways with the JDS a few years ago, at a function organized at Gururaja Kalyana Mantap in the city on Monday November 9.
“During the time I was the Chief Minister, The Reddys created lot of problems by complaining that I had demanded Rs 150 crore by way of bribe from the mining lobby, and registering a murder-attempt case against me. I did not lose heart, and continued to provide good governance,” Kumaraswami claimed. He said, JDS national president, Deve Gowda, had advised him not to hand over power, as the former was certain that the Reddys would not allow the government to function freely. People now know that I took the right decision, he added.
JDS supremo, H D Deve Gowda, said that his family has never harmed anyone or even had wished bad for the adversaries, even though the Congress and BJP leaders had heaped baseless allegations against Kumaraswami and Revanna. “We do not follow the politics of vengeance. We suffer the agony heaped on us silently,” he explained. Deve Gowda also informed that he would soon start writing his autobiography, through which he wants to let the next generation know the travails and sufferings he went through during his political innings.
