Vasco police arrest two over kidnap, sale of infant

Vasco, Mar 2: A forty-year-old woman lodged a police complaint against former Mormugao municipal chairperson, Tara Kerkar alleging kidnap and sale of her one-month-old child. Kerkar has been arrested.

The woman in her complaint on Saturday stated that while she was living with Kerkar and the child, Kerkar sold the baby without the woman’s consent in the night on Friday.

The police traced the infant to another woman at Chicalim. The woman was arrested after registering a case under various sections including Goa Children’s Act.
