Dharwad, Mar 2: "Basanagouda Patil Yatnal is an unemployed politician. He is known to issue crazy statements. Therefore, he should be divested of the membership of state assembly," demanded working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Ishwar Khandre.
Khandre, addressing a press meet at Hubballi on Sunday, condemned the derogatory language Yatnal used against freedom fighter H S Doreswamy. About Siddaramaiah's participation in the birthday function of chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, Khadre said that Siddaramaiah was not at fault. "No one has opposed this. Politics and personal relationships are entirely different issues, and Siddaramaiah has laid stress on this point even in the past," he stated.
Khadre said that the appointment to the post of the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee will be made soon. "Party observers have visited various places in the state and gathered opinions. The appointment might be announced anytime now," he said.
Khandre said that the state government is going through financial crisis. "The government does not have money in its treasury. Therefore, it is unable to disburse salary to its employees properly. Prices of essential commodities have gone up. Prices of cooking gas and milk have gone up. Bus fare also has been hiked by 12 percent," he pointed out.
Khadre said that the union government has been implementing anti-constitutional Citizenship Amendment Act and national Register of Citizens to cover up its blunders. He held the central government as entirely responsible for the disturbances at New Delhi.
