Hubli, Nov 7: Different kinds of protests was witnessed in places across the state on Friday November 6, as the people disgruntled at their power-hungry MLAs, held protests in varied ways.
At Hubli, ‘Kannadapara Mahamandala’ organized a protest under the leadership of D Govinda Rao, in which, a ‘mock auction’ of the missing MLAs was held. The missing legislators were auctioned for Rs 200 crore.
In Haveri, the organization, ‘Jaya Karnataka’, staged a protest against the legislators and filed a complaint with the policemen, saying that the MLAs of the district have gone missing.
In separate protests, Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha activists who assembled in Hagaribommanahalli in Bellary district, and Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists, who came together in Karwar, warned of launching a statewide agitation, if the legislators fail to come forward to guide relief operations. In Dharwad too, ‘Jaya Karnataka’ and Rakshana Vedike activists held separate protests.
Under the leadership of Yeddyurappa Fans Association, a protest rally was taken out from Sardar Patel Circle in Gulbarga to Jagat Circle. During the procession, funds were collected for the flood-affected people. Dileep R Patil, Babu S Baswant etc., participated.
At Kanakagiri, leaders of the Rajya Raita Sangha burnt the effigy of minister, Shivaraj Tangadagi, criticizing him for having fun and frolic at Hyderabad at a time, the people of his constituency are reeling under disaster. At Devadurg, JDS leader Basavaraj Nayak Kottadoddi filed a complaint on Friday evening at the town police station there, asking the police department to help find out the local MLA and minister representing the constituency, K Shivanagouda Nayak, who has gone missing since the last ten days.
Another complaint was filed in Nelamangala police station, seeking police help in finding out MLA, M V Nagaraj, identified with the dissidents, who has not been seen since the last two weeks. “We are worried that he would have been caught in some sort of trouble. Please search for him,” the two activists who filed the complaint said, before getting their heads tonsured in front of the general public, as a mark of protest.
