Udupi, Nov 5: The Voluntary Service Organization (VSO) of Manipal University (MU) will organize a cultural programme, Sparsh – let’s touch the lives of others at the Syndicate Bank Golden Jubilee Hall here on Sunday November 8. The charity show is being organized to raise funds for the poor and needy in and around Manipal.
Various programmes like dance, light music and Yakshagana will be performed by locals and children from across the taluk. Besides students from Sri Krishna Bala Niketan Orphanage will also be presenting a programme.
VSO is an organization which reaches out to the needy of the region. It was started two years ago and has been working for the betterment of the place and people. Three phases of immunization programmes for the underprivileged children around Manipal, English lessons for the children of Sri Krishna Bala Niketan and Nittur Orphanage in Udupi and clearing the area around Manipal Junior College, blood donation camps, visits to paediatric and cancer centre are some of the activities already undertaken by VSO .
The programme on Sunday will include a performance by Bhargavi Dance Troupe, Udupi and Deeksha Ramakrishanan, Udupi and Yakshagana by children’s troupe of Balamitra Yakshagana Pratishtana, Saralebettu.
There will be special performance by children of Day Care School, Asare and a special performance by VSO volunteer Nishitha.
