Mangalore, Nov 5: Lokayukta officials nabbed an officer of Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a beneficiary of the Ganga Kalyana Project on Tuesday November 4.
S Gullaih, district manager, Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation, is the officer caught red-handed by Lokayukta officials.
They raided a hotel near the office of the corporation situated on GHS Road. The complaint was by Vamana Nayak who applied for a loan in 2008 to dig a borewell and purchase an electric pump set.
The officer had demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant and at the hotel he was paid Rs 4,000.
Lokayukta deputy superintendent of police Sadananda Vernekar and his officials conducted the raid and registered the case.
