Karwar: Theft accused held - Stolen ornaments recovered

Karwar, Feb 22: The district police have succeeded in arresting a person who had stolen gold ornaments kept in an almirah and disappeared. The arrest was made on Friday February 21.

The police said that Vasanth Kumar (27), resident of Sharada Nagar in Vasanthpur main road, Bengaluru, was arrested in connection with the theft. During the period from November 28, 2019 to February 12, 2020, he has been accused of stealing various gold ornaments belonging to Jayashree Kanchan which were kept in an almirah.

Jayashree was staying in a rented house near Mission Compound, Badagubettu here. The police have succeeded in recovering stolen ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lac from the arrested accused.
