Mangaluru: State government forms district religious council

Mangaluru, Feb 20: Through an order issued by the state government on Wednesday, February 1 9, Dakshina Kannada district religious council has been formed.

The council will have deputy commissioner as its president. The assistant commissioner or muzrai tahsildar will be the ex officio secretary. The eight-member religious council will be in force for a period of four years or until further orders.

Members: Polali Giriplrakash Tantry (Agama section), Bhuvanabhirama Udupa (Vedas), S Sanjeeva Sooterpet (SC/ST), Shashikla Bondantila (woman), Gopal Kuthar (backward classes), Raghunath Rai Kottabedu Sullia (general), Devendra Hegde Kokrady Beltangady (general), and Muralikrishna Hasantadka (general).
