Moodbidri, Oct 29: The feast of Our Lady of Holy Rosary, popularly known as ‘Bedrada Santh Maree’ was celebrated on Wednesday October 28, at Holy Rosary Church Alangar.
Thousands of devotees witnessed the holy mass organized on the occasion. This is the first annual feast, to be celebrated from within Mangalore diocese. The feast is being celebrated here continuously since the last 75 years.
Moodbidri Denanery vicar var, Fr Austin Peter Peris, was the main celebrant of the holy mass.
In his sermon, he explained the need of holy Rosary in our daily lives. The Holy Rosary guides us to transform our lives and enables us to move to heaven from this world, he added. “Rosary is a chain that binds people together. It is a knot that binds the angels and the humans. The rosary helps us to rediscover ourselves. It gives us peace of mind during the times of turmoil and in our normal lives. In modern days, we struggle to preserve our relationships in our family. The rosary is a solution
to keep this bond together. Those who pray together will live together. Let us guide our young generation on rosary. Let us build a new community through the rosary,” he advised.
After the mass, a new Cassette, composed by choir master, Harry Tauro, was released. Speaking on this occasion, Tauro thanked his well wishers, who supported him in this endeavour.
Fr Vincent thanked all the people, who have been serving the church for the past one year.
