Mangalore, Oct 26: Dakshina Kannada (DK) District Congress Committee (DCC) met the union minister for external affairs S M Krishna to convey gratitude for beginning a direct flight to Haj pilgrims.
Meanwhile DCC also presented a memorandum to union minister S M Krishna to begin a full-fledged passport office in the city, a long pending demand by the people of DK, besides to advice the national airline Air India Express to resume direct flights to Saudi Arabia, just like other metros of Gulf countries. They also demanded the minister to instruct Indian embassies worldwide to swiftly address the grievances of Indian expatriates.
DCC president B Ramanath Rai, vice-president Ivan D’Souza, MLAs Abayachandra Jain and U T Khader, veteran Congressmen Bondala Jagannath Shetty and Abdul Sattar among others were part of the delegation.
