Bengaluru, Feb 14: Even after several portfolios were changed and re-allocated among the newly inducted ministers, dissatisfaction continues to simmer as some of the ministers are unhappy with their departments. The BJP top leadership, which has taken serious note of the developments, has firmly said that there will not be any changes henceforth.
Anand Singh, who was given food and civil supplies department initially, had brought pressure on chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa, and got forest department allocated to him overnight. However, people have begun to openly discuss cases of forest rule violations standing against him through various forums. Irked by this, Anand is trying behind the scenes to get his portfolio changed again, sources say.

Yediyurappa however, has given clear signal to his cabinet colleagues that there will not be any changes in the departments given to minsters in the immediate future and that the ministers have to handle the departments given to them efficiently. BJP high command is said to be closely monitoring these developments.
With changes in the departments given to new ministers, the veteran BJP leaders are generally satisfied. If the portfolios are changed now, not only will the image of the party get hurt but the BJP old timers may lose confidence in the leadership. Therefore, the minsters have been told in no uncertain terms that change in departments will be considered only during the next cabinet expansion. The ministers will now have to win the confidence of the CM by handling their respective portfolios well.
New ministers Dr Sudhakar, S T Somashekhar and B C Patil and some others, who have been given offices in the Vikasa Soudha, have begun to function as ministers. Some other ministers inaugurated their offices in Vidhana Soudha on Thursday. It is said that some ministers insisted on being allotted rooms in Vidhana Soudha. The CM reportedly has told the ministers not to air their grievances and views which might work against the government, publicly.
