Bantwal, Oct 25: 'Vishwaroopa Darshana' has been an annual feature at several temples of the twin-districts. On the appointed day, volunteers decorate the entire temple with earthen lamps (diya) by placing the lamps all along the walls, innter precincts and lining them along the intricate designs in the temple. Electricity supply is cut off and the entire temple glows in the golden light of the oil lamps. The devotees offer puja to the presiding deity in this form.
Vishwa Roopa Darshana had been arranged at the ancient Sri Tirumala Venkataramana Temple of Bantwal in the early morning on Sunday October 25. The volunteers got up early in the morning and worked to decorate the entire temple with oil lamps. They also set up earthen lamps in the shaps of Swastik, Om, Bhagawa flag shape etc. At around 4.30 am, lights went off and devotees thronged the temple to feast their eyes with the sight of the temple, the presiding deity and family deities in the light of the earthen lamps and to pay their obeisance.
