Udupi, Feb 12: The renovated MCC Bank Udupi Branch premises were blessed and customer meet was held on Tuesday, February 11, at Sri Ram Arcade, opposite head post office here.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, vicar forane, Udupi deanery, blessed the office premises and offered prayers.

Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank, inaugurated the renovated office by lighting the lamp.

Fr Valerian wished the best and said, “This is one of the best serving banks in Christian community. Let it give even more good service for its customers and grow to greater heights. Let customers may get all facilities here.”

Anil Lobo addressing the gathering said, “MCC Bank has completed 17 years successfully and is celebrating its 18th year with the support of its customers. Customer satisfaction is our first priority. We are putting our best efforts to fulfill customers' demands. We are training our staffs to fix the problems of customers. If customers and management go together, we can reach our goals successfully.

“The management is focusing on debt recovery. Our bank has gained profit than earlier. We have a clear vision for 2020 on NPA, deposit, and advance. Udupi branch stands first in overall performance among 16 other branches. While observing the growth graph, it is showing good growth rate,” he said.

Chief guest of the event Joseph Noronha, retired assistant general manager, Syndicate Bank said, “Customer participation in development of a bank is important. They are the backbone. In 1992, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh implemented liberalisation policy, which allowed setting up new banks. Then globalisation brought many reforms in the economy of India. Fund transfer through NEFT, and cheque clearing facilities is the major development in banking.

“Customer will get insurance, mutual funds, and DEMAT account facility in days to come. The net NPA of this bank is 1.76. That shows this bank is giving best performance when compared to any other public sector banks. Growth rate of MCC Bank is good. None of the banks declared dividend funds, but MCC declared 10% dividend funds,” he said

He further suggested to build good relationship with customers by providing friendly banking service.

Followed by the blessings ceremony, customers meet was held. Customers raised questions on increasing housing loans, and other facilities. They also shared a few suggestions with the chairman.

Some customers appreciated the service and facilities given at MCC Bank.

Jerald Jude D'Silva, vice president, Marcel D’Souza, Andrew D’Souza, David D’Souza, Dr Fred D’Souza, Sunil Menezes, general manager, Raj F Menezes, deputy general manager and branch staff were present.
