K'taka Congress, JD-S hail Kejriwal for AAP victory

Bengaluru, Feb 11 (IANS): The Karnataka Congress and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) on Tuesday congratulated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their victory in the Delhi Assembly election even before results for all 70 seats were declared.

"Congrats to @ArvindKejriwal and #AAPWinning Delhi. It has gone along expected lines, and despite the vituperative, divisive, high decibel campaign, the BJP lost badly," tweeted Karnataka Congress president Dinesh Gunde Rao here.

On the rout staring at the Congress, Rao said for the Congress it's time for a clear cut strategy, an overhaul and clarity at the top.

"There's no time to lose," Rao added.

In the 70 Assembly segments where elections were held on February 8, the AAP was leading in 62 seats and the BJP way behind in eight seats while the Congress was yet to open its account even seven hours after counting began at 8:00 a.m. in 21 centres across the national capital amid tight security.

"Hearty congratulations to @ArvindKejriwal and @AamAadmiParty. People of Delhi have showed that 'fascist ideology' will never win their hearts," tweeted former Chief Minister and JD-S president H.D. Kumaraswamy.
