M'luru, Feb 11: Seva Bharathi holds cardiac camp, launches new App for patient-specialist connect

Mangaluru, Feb 11: Seva Bharathi, a leading NGO based in the city organized a cardiac camp under the banner 'Anantha Soukhya' in association with KMC Hospital, Mangaluru on February 9 at Chetana Child Development Centre, here exclusively for senior citizens.

96 persons attended the camp and underwent extensive check-up for heart and ortho-related problems. Dr K Padmanabha Kamath, Professor and HOD of Cardiology and Dr K R Kamath, Professor and unit head of Orthopaedics, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru were the lead doctors who examined those who attended the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr K Padmanabha Kamath, Dr U V Shenoy and Dr K R Kamath by watering the plant kept for the purpose. Umesh Shenoy, coordinator, Anantha Soukhya welcomed the guests and other participants. Dr K Padmanabha Kamath and Dr K R Kamath spoke about the modalities of conducting the camp. An App for the benefit of people especially senior citizens to contact specialist doctors and seek their advice in any emergency was set up. The App will also help them to order the medicines including Janoushadi to be delivered at their doorstep. It will also help them to call an Ambulance. The App is now launched on an experimental basis and after stabilization, the App will be available for downloading by any person. The App is particularly beneficial to senior citizens living in Mangaluru whose children are living outside the city.

All those who attended appreciated the successful conduct of the camp.
