Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous) organises model-making competition

Mangaluru, Feb 10: The Department of Physics of St Agnes College (Autonomous) organised a model-making competition for St Agnes College students on February 7, 2020, as part of centenary activities.

The competition was organised with a motive of creating interest in science and to build a competitive spirit among the students. It was also hands-on learning platform, where students got an opportunity to present their science models.

The judges for the competition were Sr Gloria D’Souza AC assistant professor, Department of Chemistry PG, and Vidya Saraswathi associate professor, Department of Mathematics, St Agnes College. Ten teams participated in the competition.

 

The programme began with a short inaugural wherein a group of final year students invoked God’s blessing through a prayer song. Shaima welcomed the judges and the gathering. The participants enthusiastically presented their models. Aishwarya proposed the vote of thanks.

Rishika and Simran Naik won the first place. Vaishnavi M and Kavya Salian won the second place and the third place was secured by Sr Nishmitha D’ Souza and Preetha Jennifer.
