Kundapur, Oct 22: Small screen actress, Shreelatha Shetty (25), who is involved with a long-drawn battle to reunite with her estranged husband, Bharath, a KSRTC, Mangalore division driver, finally succeeded in meeting him at Bhatkal rural police station.
It may be recalled that Shreelatha had addressed a press conference, once organized hunger strike in front of the office of the deputy commissioner, Udupi, when she was pregnant, and once again, after she had given birth to a baby. She had demanded for uniting with her husband, who she claimed, had deserted her at the instance of his family members, after she did not agree to abort the pregnancy as demanded by him. She also had alleged that Bharat's family insisted that she convert into Jainism before she could stay with the family.
She had been assured by the then in-charge deputy commissioner, Prasanna Kumar, home minister, V S Acharya and the district police top brass, to arrange for the couple to unite again. However, when the policemen went to find Bharat, he evaded them. He had applied leave for some time and refused to meet her. Later, Bharat obtained bail and joined for duties.

Shreelata, who went to Bhatkal alongwith Keshav Koteshwar of Sphoortidhama, to meet her husband at a meeting arranged by the policemen, has returned empty-handed, as Bharat insisted that he would like to wait for the court verdict before deciding on anything. The meeting occurred on Wednesday October 21. As such, Shreelata has started living in Sphoortidhama again. Shreelata has expressed her intention of requesting the court for the DNA test, to determine the father of her child, as Bharat has denied that he is the father of the child.
Shreelatha said that she will conduct the christening ceremony of her daughter, Sphoorti, in a function to be organized by Zee TV, with small screen actors led by Malavika, at Bangalore, on Friday October 23.
