Panaji, Feb 7: Chief minister Pramod Sawant has announced for new measures to strengthen the police force, which includes three new police stations and recruitment of over 1,200 police personnel and a police staff quarters at Porvorim and Fatorda. Along with the following measures, there will also be an integrated inspection plaza to check up the quality of goods.
Sawant also attributed the drop in the crime rate to the preventive measures adopted. The chief minister stated that he even proposed for an upgraded forensic laboratory and new police stations at Quepem, Maina-Curtorim and Sanguem.
Reportedly, the police force will also be equipped with the latest machinery and allied infrastructure."I also propose to construct high-rise buildings consisting of 224 ‘B’ type quarters at Porvorim and 42 ‘B’ type quarters at Arlem, Margao, for police personnel," he said. To maintain quality control, the chief minister proposed an integrated inspection plaza at all major entry points into the state.
