Mangalore, Oct 19: Konkani weekly ‘Raknno’ invites applications for ‘Raknno Literary Competitions – 2009’.
Short Stories:
Entries should not exceed 1,000 words and first prize is a cash award of Rs 1,500, second prize is Rs 1,000, and third prize is Rs 750. There will be three consolation prizes also.

Topic – Religious Vs Laity
To summarize the causes responsible for the recent row between the religious and laity. Whether there lies a need to blame the entire religious community for the row? Whether the religious who are responsible for strengthening the faith, are at crossroads? The ways devised to improve the strained relations among religious and laity.

Rules of Competition:
Only material which is original and unpublished will qualify for the contest.
Entries should reach Raknno office by November 20.
The entries should be written clearly and visibly on one side of A4 size paper and Raknno reserves the right of publishing the prize-winning entries.
The participant should write his / her name and address separately on a paper and enclose it with the entry. (The name of participant should not be written anywhere on the entry).
Those who send their entries by e-mail are advised to mention their basic information along with subject as ‘Rakno Literary Competitions – 2009’ and mail the same to: raknno@gmail.com
